Gardening tip - Winter violas

Gardening tip - Winter violas

Winter violas are wonderful hardy little gems that will flower on through the coldest months.  Try sowing some seeds now to flower in a few months’ time.  Sow seeds thinly and evenly in seed compost and cover as they’ll need darkness to germinate, firm lightly and keep moist.

Then pop them on a windowsill as they start to germinate and harden them off so they can be planted out before it gets too cold. They look great at the front of your borders, or you might want to display them in pots on your patio.  Keep deadheading them and they’ll keep flowering, brightening up the winter months.
