Jill and the team of volunteer gardeners
We received this lovely contribution from Jill Stewart and we sent her a £50 voucher to spend at Genus.
Sulgrave Manor in Northamptonshire is the ancestral home of George Washington with a rather lovely garden and a great gardening team of both permanent and volunteering gardeners.
We are well versed in Northamptonshire weather and Genus kit is a must! One by one we have all come to this conclusion and now spread the word to fellow gardeners.
As always, the secateur stab proof pockets and waterproof knees win our prizes and contribute to making all aspects of Sulgrave gardening immensely enjoyable.
The gardens cater for events and all ages so herbaceous borders, woodland zones, orchards, herb gardens ( including American herbs ) and topiary keep us all busy. The gardens have extensive views in all directions out over the Northamptonshire ‘uplands’ ( the northern tail of the Cotswolds from the geological aspects) so it always pays to get up from the knees, (bless those knee pads), straighten the back and gaze out to nature before heading off for a well earned cuppa via the ever expanding compost heaps!
